What is Microblading?

The process of infusing pigment into the skin to simulate the appearance of natural hair.  It is considered a tattoo and permanent make-up however it does fade over time.  Touch ups are recommended once a year in order to keep the color fresh and the shape precise.  It is meant to be a subtle enhancement and to create fuller looking brows.  It is the most natural on clients that already have semi full brow hair.

Ideal Candidate?

Microblading heals the best on young, healthy, dry/normal skin.  Oily, mature skin is not recommended for microblading as results will not heal as well or look as natural.  Powder brows would be a better option.

You cannot get microblading if...

  • Pregnant or breast feeding

  • have used Acutane in the last year

  • are taking blood thinners or antibiotics

  • have chronic skin conditions e.g. rosacea, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis

  • prone to keloid scarring

  • have extremely oily or thin skin

  • heart disease

  • diabetes

  • Anemic

  • undergoing cancer treatment - must be Chemo/radiation free for 6 months.

How to prepare for your appointment?

  • No asprin 5-7 days prior as it promotes bleeding.  If you need a painkiller Tylenol 1 hour to the appointment is allowed.

  • No alcohol 24 hours prior.

  • No caffeine 12 hours prior.

  • No social plans straight after.  Your brows will darken and may be red and swollen.

  • Hair removal should be done 24 hours prior.  No electrolysis for 5 days before appointment.

  • Brow tints can be done 48 hours prior.

What to expect?

For most people 2 sessions is ideal for best results.  During the first sessions we work to build the brow and work on symmetry.  During the second session at 6-8 weeks we add density.

The healing process takes 6-8 weeks however the visible top layer of skin should heal after 2 weeks.  Redness and swelling will subside between 24-48 hours.

At 3-5 days your brows will appear darker and more sharply defined than the final result.  You may experience scabbing, itchiness and flaking.  DO NOT itch or pick at the scabs as it will affect the pigment.

Results vary client to client.  Oiler skin tends to heal more solid and powdery while drier skin heals with more crisp, defined lines.  TRUST THE PROCESS!
